SAN DIEGO, CA / ACCESSWIRE / January 23, 2023 / Ainos, Inc. (NASDAQ:AIMD, AIMDW) ("Ainos", or the "Company"), a diversified medtech company focused on the development of novel point-of-care testing, low-dose interferon therapeutics, and synthetic RNA-driven preventative medicine, today announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding ("MoU") with Taiwanese animal drug manufacturer Tah-An Chemical & Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. ("Tah-An").

Ainos and Tah-An intend to jointly explore the feasibility of manufacturing an animal investigational new drug based on the Company's VELDONA® formulation. Ainos plans to begin animal clinical trials for potential veterinary applications of VELDONA® in the first quarter of 2023. Tah-An is proposed as the contract manufacturer of the new drug candidates and Ainos plans to contribute technical assistance. The companies are currently engaged in talks to establish a formal contract based on the MoU terms.

Tah-An is a leading producer of animal drugs and has manufactured pharmaceuticals for both livestock and companion animals since 1966. The proposed strategic partnership would allow Ainos to leverage Tah-An's knowledge and manufacturing expertise as the Company develops its product pipeline.

Chun-Hsien Tsai, Ainos' Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "We are pleased to announce the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Tah-An. With over five decades of experience and a well-established reputation, Tah-An is highly qualified to manufacture our investigational animal drug. This development marks a significant milestone in our exploration of VELDONA®'s potential use for animals, and represents a promising step in the commercialization of our product pipeline. We look forward to working with Tah-An."
